Chip Shot Boot Camp
Are you frustrated with your short game? It happens quite often. You feel like you have put in your time at the practice facility and do not know what to do next. Knowing the fundamentals of a chip shot will help you get the golf ball close to the hole or chip in. This will quickly lower your scores and your golf handicap.
Many golfers are confused on what the actual definition of a chip shot is. To make sure we are all talking about the same thing, what is the definition of a chip shot? A chip shot is a golf shot that has minimum air time and maximum ground time. To say it in English, the golf ball is on the ground longer than it is in the air. So a properly executed chip shot will be lofted over rough or uneven ground, and then roll the majority of the way to the hole. The fundamental technique of how to hit a chip shot.
A Fundamental Chip Shot
The fundamental chip shot is just that-fundamental. To fine-tune your chipping use these fundamentals to guarantee more accuracy and lower scores, do the following:
First, as you address the golf ball, the golf ball should be positioned equal to where the logo would be positioned on your right chest for a right handed golfer and positioned on your left chest for a left handed golfer. With the ball position towards your back foot, the iron will be descending through impact and the golf ball. Your arms should hang freely and hang straight down and not pointing out.
Second, simply set up with sixty to seventy percent (it is individual) of your weight on your left foot for right handed golfers or on your right foot for left handed golfers. Then you make your putting stroke with your iron. Your weight will not shift. Your weight will stay in the same place. Setting your weight forward will make sure that the chip shot will be hit with a descending blow while you are in balance and you do not have has many moving parts.
Now to finish your golf set up, as you look down at the golf ball, move your hands so they are equal to your left thigh which is forward of the golf ball. Simply make a putting stroke, your hands will return to this same position at impact and then through to your finish position. With your hands ahead of the ball at impact, the momentum of your iron is more likely to be moving forward towards the hole. In English, this means your ball will be starting on the target line more often than not
Whether you are at the country club or in the back yard using a golf chipping net, you will be on the track to better chipping and to lowering your scores.

Golf Swing Slice – Steps to Follow in Curing Slice in a Swing
There is nothing that a professional golfer hates more than a golf swing slice when he is training or playing in a high tempo competition e.g. the PGA tours. Every golfer will come across a slice more than once in his/her playing career. This is because every player would like to increase the pace of the ball. What they forget is that their hands meet the ball even when the club head isn’t square inline with the ball. Therefore, there is a need to prevent a swing slice from happening.
First, ensure you have checked your grip on the club where by the left hand must be placed on shaft top with its little right hand finger crossing the front finger of the left hand. Ensure the thumbs of your hands line up below the club.
Try as much as you can to ensure the ball is played between the back and the leg in the front. For those using fairway wood or driver, they can have the ball played at one or two lengths very close to their front legs. To prevent the golf swing slice from happening, make sure the shoulder faces the ball directly and the left foot is right below the left shoulder.
Thirdly, slowly by slowly return your club as you begin to swing your back. The hips must be rotated towards the right and let hands come in second. Normally, fast backswings make the unsteady; therefore try to make them slow but let them develop gradually.
The fourth step requires you to make hips rotation towards the left side as you commence the down swing and ensure the speed of the hands is in communication with that of the swing as you prepare to hit the ball. Simply steady the swing since your intention is to have the club head meet the ball at exactly 90. Any rushing of the swing directs your club head towards the right side hence creating a golf swing slice.
Keep the head down and let your focus be on the ball. With your hand held high, you can end up hitting the ball wrongly making it to slice off your intended direction. It is therefore clear that the best golf swing is created by the golfer and what he/ or she ought to do is master the skills of the game. This will help in improving his. Or her game and help in locking out golf swing slice.

Improving Your Golf Swing – Some Simple Golf Tips
When developing a technique to use in regards to improving your golf swing, you must first break the golf swing down into segments and the segments should be as follows, feet placement, hip swing, shoulder placement, grip and head position. With these five important components in relation to the golf swing, you can help your golf game by carefully taking a look at each one. From this position, you’re much less likely to cut across the ball through impact. With minimal practice, those killer pulls and pull-slices will turn into powerful draws. The golf swing is a sequence of movements, and if you start in the right position and engage the right movements, the rest will follow. If you make a poor start to your swing, then those effects can be negative, affecting consistency and distance.
Fundamentally improving your golf swing requires the golfer to maintain a fixed spine angle, rotate around a fixed spine angle, and maintain specific postural positions in every phase of the swing. In order to accomplish this the muscles of your body must have certain levels of strength. In relation to the golf swing it’s your ability to sustain the proper spine position and center of gravity during movement.
To start improving your golf swing, please think of your body as divided at the waist into two parts, each of which is going to feel as if it’s being used wholly differently. The rotation of the lower followed by upper body turns the hips and shoulders to face the target. At impact the body weight will move onto the left foot (approximately 80%) and the right heel is ‘pulled’ from the floor by the rotation of the hips.
Try this exercise, take an ordinary coat hanger and grip the longest part just as you would a golf club with the hook between your wrists and directed away from your body. The widest points making a line between your torso and the “ball. With this setup, work through your golf swing and watch the rotation of the triangle through the air. In order to do this, your wrists have to turn as you shift arm position. Loosening your grip allows your wrists to rotate in a natural motion.
Golf weight and training exercises are one of the best and the quickest ways to improving your golf swing speed and power. The heavier the shaft, the lower and straighter your shots will be, and the lighter the shaft the higher and more variable your shots will be. Many players try to make their clubs heavier by adding lead tape to the head, which changes the overall weight, the swing weight, and the shaft flex.
Oftentimes, in golf terms the opening and closing, of the clubface is termed releasing of the club. This is where the hands become an integral part of the golf swing. The simplest way to improving your golf swing and to shape your shots is to make sure your clubface faces the target but your body lines are right or left depending on the ball flight desired. Do not change your grip or swing.
Moreover, the angle of the club head must be checked on two fronts: First, the face of the club head, or the horizontal angle, must be pointing in the direction you want the ball to fly. Second, the vertical angle, which is largely effected by how you hold the club and address the ball, must be set up so that you do not lose distance in your shot.
As you slowly lift your club, do not cock your wrist too soon. Try to shorten your swing and make sure you stay down and get the ball through on your down swing. Perfect golf swing drills centered around the takeaway continues with your left wrist cupped, right arm above your left and right knee flexed.
Depending on your dominant hand the club should rest against the palm of your opposite hand and be held somewhat loosely at the fingertips with the heel of your hand providing pressure. The dominant hand should then be placed in the same position creating a V with the thumb and index fingers.
While you must work on technique and position, when it comes to actually playing the game, you need to rely on the platform and motion you have started. The next time you practice, try hitting some balls starting with the clubhead a foot or so in front (toward the target) of the ball. The address stage is about the body’s position and the proper grip. The backswing is the start of the body movement and positions the body before beginning the downswing.

It is not realistic for any golfer to expect improvement in their golf swing if they practice once a month. The same can be said about a golf fitness program. Improving your golf swing begins and ends with you. Training the muscles of your body to properly perform specific movements takes time and practice. Out of these golf swing tips and methods, whichever should be convenient to you should be mastered correctly if you want to look forward to improving your golf swing.
